Peer Reviewer Process

All manuscripts submitted to Pneuma: International Journal of Pentecostal Theology and Spirituality undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution.

Each submitted manuscript is initially evaluated by the editorial team to assess its suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, writing quality, and compliance with publication ethics and author guidelines. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be forwarded to independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic.

The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. Reviewers are responsible for providing objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations regarding the originality, methodology, theological contribution, clarity of analysis, relevance of references, and overall academic quality of the manuscript.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide to:

  1. Accept the manuscript without revision;
  2. Accept the manuscript with minor revisions;
  3. Request major revisions and resubmission;
  4. Reject the manuscript.

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments within the specified timeframe. The editorial team reserves the right to make minor editorial changes for clarity, consistency, and formatting without altering the substance of the manuscript.

The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board.
